Activities Sea days can be the best part of your holiday. From total relaxation by the pool to amazing events and activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Each day’s events, from music and dancing to talks and craft classes, are listed in the ship’s daily newspaper, Horizon, and all are included as part of your holiday.
Find your dancing feet In the mood to pick up some new moves? Learn how to Salsa and Cha-Cha, Foxtrot and line dance with our dancing instructors on board. Don’t worry if it’s all new to you – all ages and abilities are welcomed. If you’re on a Strictly Come Dancing themed cruise, you’ll have even more opportunity to strut your stuff, dance competitively and get hands-on with the stars. Fun and deck games When the weather’s fine, enjoy a relaxed game of shuffleboard or quoits overlooking the ocean on deck – rules are posted up near the equipment. It’s a great way to keep active at a gentler pace and meet new friends. Have fun as a couple or a group – why not form a team or enter a tournament to raise your game?
Permission to relax The chance to ‘do nothing’ can be the best bit of any holiday. Settle down in a comfortable spot, chat with friends, enjoy a cocktail or a coffee, get lost in a good book, gaze at wonderful views (was that a dolphin you just saw?) or simply slide into a blissful, sun-kissed snooze by the pool.
Books and so much more Want to keep the grey matter occupied? Our well-stocked libraries are a treasure trove. Here, you’ll find not just fiction and non-fiction books and the latest magazines but also audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, jigsaws and board games. On Azura and Aurora, Amazon Kindles are available to hire, free of charge.
Healthy discussions If you like to listen to health experts, our wellness talks will certainly be of interest. Guest speakers bring to life topics including the benefits of exercise, laughter therapy and reducing stress.
Learn something new Expand your horizons in more ways than one. Learn Spanish on a world cruise, take up juggling, get to grips with your digital camera, learn to make the perfect cocktail or hear expert guest speakers on a range of subjects – just a few of the ways to add to your skillset on board.
Art for all Let the wonderful scenery you encounter on your travels inspire you. Try your hand at an artist-taught watercolour class on most cruises with six or more sea days. You can also get together with like-minded guests and get creative at special craft mornings.
Get sporty If you like to keep fit, you can be active all day on our cruises. Facilities vary across the fleet but expect sports courts with football, basketball and deck tennis, golf nets to practice your swing, a well-equipped gym, a choice of swimming pools, plus table tennis and darts (Azura only), to name but a few activities.
Quizzes for everyone Whatever your ‘chosen specialist subject’, and whether you’re a team player, lone wolf, film buff, music lover, or just after a bit of family fun, there’s usually a quiz happening somewhere on board, whatever the hour. All you need to get right is a silly team name.
Games and competitions Bridge fiend?* Bingo fanatic? Card sharp or pool hustler? You may already be skilled in these games, or hanker for the chance to improve your skills. On our cruises you can play with friends or learn the ropes at hosted sessions, practice, enjoy, compete – and get a chance to play like James Bond in the casino. *Bridge available on cruises with six or more sea days.
Going it alone? Cruise holidays are perfect for solo travellers. It’s so easy to meet new people and try new things, whether under your own steam or through one of our specially arranged solo guest coffee mornings and afternoon teas. Don’t be shy – come along and find like-minded friends on board.
